Goodman Ranch proudly offers Fallow Deer hunting in Tennessee, giving hunters the chance to pursue one of Europe’s most prized and beautiful exotic species. Originally native to the Mediterranean and Middle East, Fallow Deer have been successfully raised in the United States and thrive here on our ranch in West Tennessee.
Our herd is carefully managed to ensure a true fair chase hunting experience. With no human handling other than for veterinary care, our Fallow deer grow strong and mature in a natural environment, making each hunt both authentic and challenging.

One of the most distinctive features of the Fallow Buck is its palmated antlers, similar in shape to moose antlers. These wide, webbed antlers create an impressive mount and a highly sought-after trophy. Fallow bucks typically weigh over 175 pounds, while does average around 120 pounds. Their coats come in three striking colors—white, chocolate (the rarest), and spotted brown—making them one of the most visually stunning exotic deer species.
Because Fallow deer are grazers, feeding on fresh grasses, their meat is considered especially delicious and mild compared to other deer species.
The rut for Fallow deer begins in late September, when bucks display dominance and unique musking patterns on their neck, chin, and chest. For the most desirable mounts, hunters often target bucks before this period or later in the season after it subsides, around January.
The Fallow bucks shed their antlers in early spring and are fully polished again by late August. Whether with a bow, muzzleloader, or rifle, these hunts provide a rewarding challenge for any hunter.
